WHY AN ONLINE SOUND HEALING TRAINING PROGRAM?
The Inner Sounds Sound Healing Training Program began as an in person course in 2018. After transitioning online in 2020, it quickly became clear that the online format created opportunities that simply weren't possible in a traditional weekend training. Students were learning more, retaining more, and developing even stronger facilitation skills online.
The self-paced format allows students to pause, replay, and revisit lessons as often as needed while progressing through a carefully structured curriculum. Multiple camera angles, close-up demonstrations, quizzes, reflection questions, and experiential exercises create a richer learning experience than could be delivered in a live classroom alone.
Equally important, self-paced learning makes the sound healing training program accessible to students around the world. Whether you're balancing work, family, different time zones, or weekend commitments, you can complete the training when it works for you!

Do I need prior experience in sound healing?
No. This sound healing training is designed for both beginners and existing practitioners. The curriculum begins with foundational nervous system principles and builds progressively into advanced sequencing and facilitation.
Do I need instruments to enroll?
No. No instruments are required to enroll. In fact, owning zero instruments is one of the best ways to start, so you can learn what instruments you are really drawn to, buy from reputable sources, and be empowered to build the exact sound family that suits your needs and desires.
However, instruments are required to complete the practice requirements for the Certificate of Completion or 200hr Certification, see below.
What if I don't own any instruments yet?
That's awesome! Not owning any instruments is the perfect place to start, in fact we encourage waiting to enroll before buying instruments!
The curriculum is designed to build progressively, allowing you to purchase instruments as you move through the training. Detailed guidance is provided throughout the course so you can make informed purchasing decisions based on your goals and budget.

What is the difference between Sound Practitioner Training and the 200hr Sound Mastery Program?
Both tracks get access to the same modules, lessons, videos, quizzes, journaling assignments, and homework.
Sound Practitioner Training Program is a entirely self-directed sound healing training program. Aside from your final assessment, there is no coaching or individual feedback. This track is designed to be as affordable as possible.
The Sound Healing 200 hr Certification Mastery Program includes one-on-one coaching along the way, supervised practicum, structured independent study hours, and formal evaluation for professional certification. This track is designed for those who want more check-ins, support, essential feedback and accountability along the way.
How long do I have access?
All tracks receive one full year of access from the date of enrollment. Most students complete the curriculum in 3–6 months, depending on pace. Students can request an extension for a nominal fee, if needed.
Do I need any musical experience?
Nope! The Inner Sounds Sound Healing Training Program is designed for complete beginners as well as experienced practitioners. You'll learn step by step, beginning with the fundamentals and gradually building your knowledge, confidence, and facilitation skills.
Will I be certified after completing the program?
Yes! Students who complete the Professional Sound Practitioner Training requirements, practice hours, and final exam will be a Certified Inner Sounds Professional Practitioner™
Students who complete all 200hr requirements, practicum, and evaluation will be a Certified Inner Sounds 200 hr Sound Mastery Practitioner™
These titles recognize your demonstrated competency in facilitating therapeutic sound baths using the Inner Sounds Method™, grounded in nervous system awareness, structured sequencing, and professional standards of care.
Can I start a sound bath business after this training?
Absolutely!
Our sound healing training includes practical business foundations drawn from 25+ years of event facilitation experience, including environmental considerations, how to incorporate intentional themes, adjusting when things go haywire, and how to create memorable, relatable experiences people will return to again and again. You’ll have the tools and framework to easily transform your training into a viable, professional practice.
Is this training focused on group or private sessions?
Both! You will learn therapeutic sequencing for group sound baths and how to adapt the method for private sessions.
Can I complete the training while working full-time?
Yes! Because the sound healing training program is completely self-paced, many students complete lessons during evenings, weekends, or whenever it fits their schedule. Most students finish within 3–6 months, but you have one full year of access.
Is this sound healing training program a good fit for yoga teachers or wellness professionals?
Absolutely! This sound healing training is designed to integrate seamlessly into existing practices such as yoga, meditation, therapy, coaching, bodywork, social work, counseling, acupuncture, or other wellness modalities.

Can I upgrade from Professional Sound Practitioner Training to the Sound Mastery 200 hr Certification program later?
Absolutely!
Students may upgrade anytime during their year long access period at a discounted rate. Completed practice hours can be applied toward 200 hr certification requirements. After access has expired, 200 hr certification can be purchased at full price.
Is this sound bath training program self-paced?
Yes! The training is fully online and self-paced, with structured progression and clear milestones. There are discounts for in-person private instruction at our Inner Sounds Studio in Portland Oregon.
How many practice hours are required?
All sound bath training students are required to log and complete 50 hours of self-practice. 200 hr sound healing certification students have additional independent study hours to complete as well.
Will I learn to play other sound healing instruments like metal singing bowls or tuning forks?
The course focuses on the four major and most effective therapeutic instrument groups in sound healing: gongs, crystal singing bowls, ocean wave drum, and koshi chimes. It also includes cursory modules on metal singing bowls, tuning forks, and other sound healing instruments to broaden your knowledge.
What kind of support is available if I have questions?
Any student can contact us with technical or administrative questions throughout the training. Students seeking personalized guidance, feedback on their playing, and coaching should enroll in the Sound Mastery Program, which includes one-on-one mentoring and ongoing support.
Can I teach sound bath trainings after this course?
No. This sound healing training program prepares you to facilitate therapeutic style sound baths, not to teach the Inner Sounds curriculum or others to play. Students sign an NDA and agree not to share or reproduce proprietary materials, sequencing structures, or trademarked content for teaching purposes.
Advanced teacher training may be offered in the future.
Does this sound bath training offer Yoga Alliance CEUs?
With our Sound Bath Training Program, yoga instructors can seamlessly integrate therapeutic style sound baths into yoga classes, workshops, and retreats, but as a school we do not currently offer Yoga Alliance CEUs.
