The Inner Sounds Sound Healing Certification Training is a comprehensive online sound healing training program designed to teach you how to confidently facilitate therapeutic sound baths rooted in nervous system science.
This is a complete professional training pathway delivered in one structured program with two tracks: Inner Sounds Sound Healing Practitioner Certification and the Sound Mastery 200hr Sound Healing Certification.
To earn certification, one most complete the program within a year and turn in required exercises and quizzes.

You do not need instruments to enroll in the training. In fact, we recommend waiting to purchase instruments until after you register.
Inside the program, you’ll receive clear guidance on when to invest, what to buy, and how to build your sound family intentionally.

Do I need prior experience in sound healing?
No. This sound healing training is designed for both beginners and existing practitioners. The curriculum begins with foundational nervous system principles and builds progressively into advanced sequencing and facilitation.
Do I need instruments to enroll?
No. No instruments are required to enroll. In fact, owning zero instruments is one of the best ways to start, so you can learn what instruments you are really drawn to, buy from reputable sources, and be empowered to build the exact sound family that suits your needs and desires.
However, instruments are required to complete the practice requirements for the Certificate of Completion or 200hr Certification, see below.
What instruments are required?
Our sound healing training programs are designed to build progressively, students can buy instruments along the way as they progress through the training. Detailed instrument guidance is provided inside the training so you can make informed purchasing decisions aligned with your vision.
For the Sound Practitioner Training Certificate of Completion, these instruments are required: 1 Ocean Wave Drum, 1 Koshi Chime, 2-3 Crystal Bowls, optional Gong.
For the Sound Healing 200 hr Mastery Program Certification: 1 Ocean Wave Drum, 2 Koshi Chimes, 3 - 6 Crystal Bowls, and highly recommend a Gong. Each 200hr student will receive instrument coaching, where we can discuss other options besides a gong if that isn’t in your budget or vision.
What is the difference between Sound Practitioner Training and the 200hr Sound Mastery Program?
Sound Practitioner Training is a structured, self-paced professional sound healing training that leads to a Certificate of Completion when practice requirements are met.
The Sound Healing 200 hr Certification Mastery Program includes one-on-one coaching, supervised practicum, structured independent study hours, and formal evaluation for professional certification.
How long do I have access?
You receive one full year of access from the date of enrollment. Most students complete the curriculum in 3–6 months, depending on practice pace.
How many practice hours are required?
Professional Sound Practitioner Training Certificate:
20 documented practice hours and 5 facilitated sound baths.
Sound Mastery 200hr Certification:
Structured 200-hour framework including practice, independent study, recordings, and supervised practicum.
Will I be certified after completing the program?
Yes. Students who complete the Sound Practitioner Training requirements, practice hours, and final exam will be a Certified Inner Sounds Professional Sound Healing Practitioner™
Students who complete all 200hr requirements, practicum, and evaluation will be a Certified Inner Sounds 200 hr Sound Mastery Practitioner™
Can I start a sound bath business after this training?
Yes! Absolutely! Our sound healing training includes practical business foundations drawn from 25+ years of event facilitation experience, including event flow, important venue considerations, and creating memorable experiences. You’ll have the tools and framework to easily transform your training into a thriving professional practice.
The 200hr Sound Mastery program dives even deeper with expanded business modules.
Is this training focused on group or private sessions?
Both. You will learn therapeutic sequencing for group sound baths and how to adapt the method for private sessions.
Is this sound healing training a good fit for yoga teachers or wellness professionals?
Yes. This sound healing training is designed to integrate seamlessly into existing practices such as yoga, meditation, therapy, coaching, bodywork, social work, counseling, acupuncture, or other wellness modalities.
You’ll learn how to safely offer therapeutic sound healing that complement and elevate your current offerings while supporting nervous system regulation and client safety.

We’ve trained hundreds of students in our proprietary methodology and are one of the first schools to offer full 200hr sound healing certification (similar to yoga teachers).
Can I upgrade from Professional Sound Practitioner Training to the Sound Mastery 200 hr Certification program later?
Yes. Students may upgrade during their year long access period at a discounted rate. Completed practice hours can be applied toward 200 hr certification requirements. After access has expired, 200 hr certification can be purchased at full price.
Is this program self-paced?
Yes. The training is fully online and self-paced, with structured progression and clear milestones. There are discounts for in-person private instruction at our Inner Sounds Studio in Portland Oregon and immersion weekends.
Will I learn to play other sound healing instruments like metal singing bowls or tuning forks?
The course focuses on the four major and most effective therapeutic instrument groups in sound healing: gongs, crystal singing bowls, ocean wave drum, and koshi chimes. It also includes cursory modules on metal singing bowls, tuning forks, and other sound healing instruments to broaden your knowledge.
Can I teach sound bath trainings after this course?
No. This program prepares you to facilitate therapeutic sound baths, not to teach the Inner Sounds curriculum or others to play.
Students sign an NDA and agree not to share or reproduce proprietary materials, sequencing structures, or trademarked content for teaching purposes.
Advanced teacher training may be offered in the future.
Does this sound bath training offer Yoga Alliance CEUs?
No, this training does not currently offer Yoga Alliance CEUs.
It does provide necessary training to seamlessly integrate therapeutic sound baths into yoga classes, workshops, and retreats.
