Melissa Felsenstein is the founder of Inner Sounds Yoga and has been practicing
sound as therapy for over ten years. She
uses specially tuned, high-quality instruments to
create to an immersive experience of sound and vibration experienced
while lying down comfortably
for deep relaxation and a soothing, effortless calm.
Sound meditation baths are designed to guide listeners through sound
on an inner journey of self discovery and exploration.
Through a scientific process called entrainment, our brains naturally synchronizes to the sound waves and slowing dow to Alpha, Theta, and Delta brainwave states:
reducing the stress response, creating better sleep,
balancing the nervous system,
enhancing intuition through self-connection,
creating an underlying calm
and feeling of wholeness.
It was in these slower brainwave states Melissa was able to heal herself of severe anxiety and depression, learn more about her story here. She is self-taught and used sound to self-heal
for many years before sharing publicly.
Her sound baths are specifically designed to restore the nervous system.

ABOUT SOUND MEDITATIONS
WHAT TO EXPECT AT A SOUND MEDITATION BATH?
A sound meditation "bath" is an immersive
live sound performance by Melissa Felsenstein with
specially tuned high-quality instruments.
Melissa's sound meditation baths are focused on restoring the nervous system through deep relaxation. Therefore, each sound bath has a limited amount of participants to ensure each person has adequate space, sufficient props, and a distraction free environment.
Most participants choose to lay down down but it can be experienced seated. No yoga is practiced.
Your attire will not impact your sound meditation experience but comfortable clothes can enhance your ability to relax.
Most studios provide blankets, mats, and bolsters to increase your comfort. Please check the events page to be sure you do not need to bring your own blankets or pillows.
Some participants prefer to bring their own props from home to assure maximum relaxation: two pillows, one or two soft blankets, and a blanket or mat to lie down.
All participants are recommended to use an eye pillow or scarf is recommended to reduce visual stimulation.
After a short welcome and explanation of how you may feel during a sound bath, Melissa will use her restorative expertise to skillfully guide you in setting yourself up comfortably while lying down so you can have the best experience possible.
You will then deeply relax in an immersive environment of live sound and vibration played by Melissa
with specially tuned gongs, chimes, and quartz crystal singing bowls for about sixty minutes.
Then, you will be slowly guided up to a comfortable seat for a closing silent meditation. Total experience is around 90 minutes.
The combination of instruments creates a unique experience each time. For some, it is a live symphony of sounds while for others, it is a healing and therapeutic experience.
Participants have often reported experiencing colorful visuals, emotional release, muscular tension relief, mood elevation, and a deep inner calm. Many enter meditative states and receive transformative insight.
Some participants fall asleep, do not concern yourself if this happens, this is natural and can repair your sleep cycle. Research suggests that one sound bath can be the equivalent of eight hours of sleep.
As your body enters such a restful state, sometimes it can be helpful to hydrate with water, please bring a water bottle.
Some choose to continue their relaxation at home by being tech-free and having a quiet night in.
Another added benefit is that participants frequently report having a deeply restful nights sleep following the sound bath.
